Ingredient Description

MonafitTM is fermented product from the functional red yeast Monascus pilosus SWM-008 strain. The unique feature of MonafitTM is its absence of monacolin K and citrinin, reducing safety risks for consumers. It contains two active compounds: the novel active ingredient monascinol (Msol) and the well-known monascin (MS). These two active components work synergistically to support consumers in weight management and overall health. Strain Characteristics

Monascus pilosus SWM-008 is a novel functional red yeast strain developed by Professor Tzu-Ming Pan research team at SunWay Biotech. Its fermentation products contain high concentrations of active compounds: Monascinol and Monascin. In preclinical studies, MonaFit™ has been shown to enhance hepatic AMPK activity, reduce liver fat production, promote fat metabolism by converting white adipose tissue into energy-burning brown adipose tissue, and improve gut health by increasing beneficial Akkermansia muciniphila and short-chain fatty acids.  To date, four SCI journal articles have been published, providing scientific evidence for this strain.
